CANANZ was established by everyday sailors just like you who have a passion for the freedom of the ocean be it inshore or offshore and who enjoy helping others in a family orientated club with the objective of promoting the passing on of knowledge to others of weather, navigation and safety of life at sea. New Zealand is renowned the world over as a seafaring nation and is also the staging post for many to travel across oceans to other lands. CANANZ is all about fostering education and understanding of both traditional and modern day navigation techniques, weather forecasting and passage planning from choice of ship to provisioning and heavy weather tactics.Having one of the worlds greatest cruising grounds on our doorstep in Auckland, we organise several fun filled cruises in the Hauraki Gulf along with free lectures and informal dinners. |
